Carlotte storm to hit eastern part of Indonesia

JAKARTA, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Agency forecast that Carlotte storm is likely to hit several areas in Indonesia, starting from Java sea, southern part of Makassar strait, Indian ocean till Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT).
"It is just starting from Australian watery area towards Indonesia. The wind is moving in a circle of inflows and is going to break around the Indonesia watery area. The outbreak must be today and will finish in three days," the Vivanews.com on Monday quoted Section Head for Data of BMG of Makasar Hanafi Hamzah as saying.
According to Hanafi, Carlotte will cause a strong wind that is likely to hit on Sabalana Selayar, Doang-doangang watery area, Masalembo sea, Arafuru and Aru sea. It will be unsafe for shipping. "Even the tides may reach 3 to 4 meters," he said, adding that the agency has repeated warning to all fishermen and ships carrying passengers.
