BEIRUT, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chief of the Lebanese Shiite armed group Hezbollah Hasan Nasrallah said Wednesday that the United States and Israel are the party's enemy and will stay their enemy, the party's al-Manar TV reported.
Addressing tens of thousands of supporters who gathered in Beirut's southern suburbs at the occasion of Ashura, Nasrallah launched the strongest verbal threats since the Ashura, which began ten days ago and ends today.
"We are ready for any aggression, and if the Zionists come to our homes, they will find out what is waiting for them," Nasrallah threatened.
He addressed Israeli Prime Minister Olmert, saying, "you loser can not eliminate Hamas or Hezbollah, your jets did not frighten us, and we are not afraid of your threats."
He called on Arab leaders who have made peace with Israel to cut the relations and to learn from Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez who adopted a solidarity stand with the Palestinian people.
"The people of our nation will punish the Zionists, while Arab leaders make peace with Israel," Nasrallah said.
He asked Egyptian officials "do you need more than 650 martyrs to open the Rafah crossing?"
On Tuesday night, Nasrallah renewed the commitment to the resistance against Israel. He said Hamas had two choices to "either extend the truce with Israel and die of hunger or end the truce and lift the siege."
