Types of clean benches

The process of laminar airflow can be described as an airflow in which the entire airflow flows at a steady, uniform velocity.

 

Purification benches work by using laminar flow through one or more HEPA filters, designed to create a particle-free work environment and provide product protection. Air passes through a filter system and is then exhausted across the work surface as part of a laminar flow process.

 

Typically, filtration systems include pre-filters and HEPA filters. The two sides of the purification workbench are closed to maintain a constant positive air pressure to prevent the intrusion of polluted indoor air.

The purification workbench can produce both horizontal cabinets and vertical cabinets. There are many different types of cabinets with various airflow patterns for different purposes.

Horizontal ultra-clean workbench

Horizontal clean benches get their name from the direction of air flow from above, but then change direction and process the entire workpiece in a horizontal direction. A constant flow of filtered air protects materials and products.

 

Vertical ultra-clean workbench

Vertical clean benches function just as well as horizontal clean benches, with laminar air directed vertically down the work area. Air can leave the work area through holes in the base. Vertical flow cabinets provide great operator protection.
