Basic Composition of Quantity Adjustable Optical Attenuator


The basic material of RF/microwave power attenuator is resistive material. The general resistance is a basic form of the quantitatively adjustable optical attenuator. The network of the quantitatively adjustable optical attenuator is the lumped parameter attenuator. The attenuator of the corresponding frequency is formed by placing the resistor material in the RF/microwave circuit structure of different bands through a certain process. If it is a high-power attenuator, the volume must be increased, the key is the heat dissipation design. With the development of modern electronic technology, fast adjusting attenuator is used in many occasions. There are two ways to realize this attenuator: one is a semiconductor fast-tuning attenuator with low power, such as PIN tube or FET monolithic integrated attenuator; the other is a resistance attenuation network controlled by switches, which are electronic switches or radio frequency relays.
