How do biological safety cabinets handle spills?

1. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as double gloves, protective clothing, goggles and respiratory protection;

2. Keep the secondary biological safety cabinet open;

3. Cover the absorbent material soaked with disinfectant on the easy-to-sprinkle object for a certain time to exert the disinfection effect. Soak work surfaces as well as gutters and wetted troughs with disinfectant if necessary;

4. Take off the gloves after disinfecting the gloves worn in the safety cabinet. If the protective clothing has been contaminated, after removing the contaminated protective clothing, wash the exposed area with an appropriate disinfectant.

5. Carefully place the tissue (or other absorbent material) that has absorbed the spillage into the collection bag or container in which the spillage was collected, and repeatedly use a new tissue (or other absorbent material) to absorb the remaining material; broken Glass or other sharps should be handled with tweezers or pliers;

6. Wipe or spray the inner wall of the safety cabinet, the working surface and the inner side of the front window with disinfectant; after a fixed time of action, wipe the disinfectant with clean water;

7. If you need to soak the liquid tank, you must report it to the supervisor before cleaning the liquid tank; it may be necessary to disinfect it by other methods before cleaning.

8. If the spill flows into the biological safety cabinet, it is necessary to take appropriate measures after assessment.
