Introduction to Qualitative Analysis of Spectrometer
Qualitative analysis of spectroscopic instruments means that due to the different atomic structures of various elements, spectra with their own characteristics can be produced under the action of light sources. If the excitation spectra of a sample appear in the spectral lines of several elements on the photosensitive plate, it is proved that there are several elements in the sample. Such an analysis method is called spectral qualitative analysis method.
Spectroscopic instruments are used for qualitative analysis as follows:
1. Comparative spectroscopy analysis: This method is widely used, including standard sample comparison method and Ferrography comparison method. Standard sample comparison method is generally applicable to single qualitative analysis and finite analysis. Ferrographic comparison method can be used not only for single determination but also for complete analysis.
2. Spectral line wavelength measurement method: Spectral analyzer uses spectral line wavelength measurement method to make qualitative analysis. It first measures the wavelength of a spectral line, and then looks up the table to determine the existing elements. This method is seldom used in daily analysis, usually only when compiling spectrograms or making arbitration analysis.
Generally speaking, the qualitative analysis of spectral analyzer can analyze more than 70 elements in the periodic table of elements. However, due to the limitation of instrument and light source conditions, some elements, such as non-metallic and halogen group elements, need to be determined under special conditions.
