Ando AQ4321A Tunable Laser Source

The Yokogawa / Ando AQ4321A / 4321D Tunable Laser Source features an absolute wavelength calibration function that uses an internal gas cell absorption line. This calibration function provides highly accurate, reliable measurements on DWDM components. The interior of the AQ4321A / 4321D features a precision motor that achieves wavelength tuning by controlling the position of optical grating at the sub-micron level. A portion of the optical output is extracted and goes through the reference gas cell for wavelength offset calibration. To ensure long-term high wavelength accuracy and high output stability, the optical module within the AQ4321A / 4321D is constantly monitored by a photo detector; also, an automatic power control circuit is used to maintain very high stability in output level.
